Application procedure for degree students
Entrance requirements 2011
The main language of instruction at the Bachelor´s and Master´s level is Finnish. Thus, a fluent knowledge of the Finnish language and participation in the entrance examination in Finnish is always required from the applicants holding only a school-leaving certificate.

If you are not fluent in Finnish, but already have a university degree equivalent to the Finnish Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, you can apply to the following two Master´s Degree Programmes offered in English:
- Master Degree programme in Baltic Sea Region Studies
- European Heritage, Digital Media and the Information Society Master´s programme
International applicants who already have a good knowledge of the Finnish language and a lower university degree in the relevant field can apply for the Master’s Degree Programme in Finnish and other Finno-Ugric Languages :
For application instructions and Degree Prospectus in English, please see the web-site of How to apply for Degree Studies. Applications have to be submitted according to the deadlines specified by the programmes. Applications arriving later than the deadline will not be processed.
For doctoral studies, applicants must have a Master´s degree equivalent to the Finnish higher university degree and a good knowledge of either English of Finnish.
